The use of cookies

  • Captcha: when sending a contact form, it is not only convenient to not have to enter your data repeatedly; we also need to verify that you are effectively a person and not an automated bot trying to abuse our systems. The security of both your and our data is of paramount importance. This is done by using a 'captcha', either by generating a random code or using the Google Recaptcha. 

  • Ease of use: to make your life easier, your choices are sometimes stored. This might include the number of items you want to see in a list or whether you have already received a certain important message via a popup or modal, for example, so that we do not have to repeatedly trouble you with the same choices and confirmations. 

Our website also uses 'third-party cookies'. These are cookies that do not originate from the website itself, but from third parties, e.g. an existing marketing or advertising plug-in such as cookies from META (Facebook and Instagram), Microsoft (LinkedIn), Twitter, Google, YouTube where the information generated by the cookies about the use of the website (including the IP address) is transferred to META (Facebook and Instagram), Microsoft (LinkedIn), Twitter, Google, YouTube and stored on their servers. However, with regard to both "first-party cookies" and "third- party cookies", the website visitor must first give their active and informed consent to these cookies - this can be done via a bar at the bottom or top of the website, with reference to this policy, which does not, however, prevent further browsing on the website.

BETEC' s website www.betecnv.be uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. ("Google"). Google Analytics uses cookies to help the website analyse how users use the site. Google will use this information to track how you use the website, compile reports on website activity for website operators, and provide other services relating to website activity and internet usage.
